American Legion Post 159

American Legion Post 159

The American Legion Post 159 stands for “Veterans serving Veterans and their families.”

The American Legion helps meet the unique needs of our local community. Veterans who need advocates to help with pension claims, death benefits, or information about our community are welcome.

Post 159 has a range of services available from our American Legion Veterans, Sons of the American Legion (SAL), and American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) members, including;

  • Funeral detail from our sister Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Post in Cheboygan.
  • The Veteran’s Pension and Claim Service Officer is on-site and available to assist veterans and their families on the second Monday of each month at noon.
  • Memberships are available for active duty or honorably discharged veterans and other direct-line family members of veterans through the SAL and ALA. You do not have to live in Mackinaw City to be a member.
  • The Post canteen/bar is open most days. Stop in and meet our Post 159 Legion family.
