The staff’s pursuit of excellence recently resulted in our elementary school receiving the “Golden Apple” award for exceptional MEAP test results and a $10,000 reward. The high school at the same time received the “Governor’s Cup” award for academic excellence. Of over 550 districts in the state, Mackinaw City was one of nine to receive both awards and the only Class D school to do so.
