BIG MAC SHORELINE
Registered participants will also be provided with a light, cookout-style lunch upon completion of their rides including hot dogs, veggies, potato salad, chips & cookies that afternoon back at the school pavilion. On Sunday, 400 lucky riders over the age of 13 will have the opportunity of a lifetime as they are allowed to pedal across the Mackinac Bridge and take in the picturesque surroundings of the Straits of Mackinac. The Spring Bike Tour was created in 1992 and the Fall Tour was added in 1994 to compliment the Spring Tour. These tours are designed as a recreation event allowing families to enjoy this healthy activity together.
It takes a Community of envolved volunteers to put on this successful ride. The list of Bike tour positions were filled on our Spring ride by the following community members, ambassadors, and Chamber friends: food/rest stop organizers: Shirley & Norm Schneider & Dawn Edwards. Registration: Judy Bennett, Brenda Beyer, Sue Brandt & Kelly Vieau. Lunch: Judy Most, Katy Stone, Marialana Nygard, Carol Perlick, & Audrey Jaggi. Lunch chefs: Dick Perlick, Ron Gwilt, & Tom Peters. Ham operators through out the ride and coordinator Chuck Brew. Stop hosts: Gussie Williams, Judy Bennett at Just a Plain Farm; Robert Heilman, Angie Ross at Legs Inn; Dawn Edwards at Moose Jaw Junction. Sag vehicles and route supervisors: Jack Clear, Gene Cooley, Edgar Jaggi, Bud Stone & Belinda Mollen. Bridge ride directional, Deni Mahlmeister. Bridge safety vehicles: Gene Cooley, Tom Peters, Greg Brown & Kelly Vieau. We would also like to thank the Mackinac Bridge Authority, Arnold Transit Co., the Mackinaw City Police, & Dave Paquet.
