Christmas in Mackinaw! Take care of your holiday gift needs Friday, December 4, Saturday, December 5 and Sunday December 6 and every weekend in December. Plus a new winter experience at McGulpin Point lighthouse and a Saturday  Evening outdoor Night Skies Story telling event!

 Friday December 4, Parade:

4:45 PM, the annual tree lighting procession to Indian Pathways Park; meet at the Marina parking lot.

5:00 PM, a parade of caroler wagons & vehicles to the community Christmas tree. Come be a part of the “Tacky Tinsel Town Car Parade” (decorate your car for the holidays & win a Tacky Prize.) Categories include Grand Tacky, Mostly Tacky, Ha Ha Ho Ho, Tinsel Tune Fa La La, Tinsel Town and Northern Lights awards.

5:15 PM, Community blessing, Santa and carols at the tree.

5:35 PM, all proceed to Jim Wehr's Mackinaw Outfitters in the Mackinaw Crossings for children's craft, awards, coffee, cocoa and cookies.

Saturday December 5: 

10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Shop and dine in Mackinaw! 

New this year is the opportunity to experience the charm and winter glow of the historic McGulpin Point  Lighthouse. Open Saturday December 5 from 10-6 and Sunday December 6 from 12-4. See their newest addition, an 1880’s refurbished pump organ! Enjoy cookies and old fashion light house hospitality. Mary Adams, a colorful storyteller will do a Saturday evening outdoor event from 7-8:30. the place will be announced.

Sundays in December: 

Hear the story of the Chrismon Tree at the Church of the Straits 10:30 service. Enjoy Christmas shopping and hospitality on the Straits from 12 to 5!

Mackinaw City Holiday Programs:

Thursday, Dec 10 at 6:30pm, Mackinaw City School Christmas Concert.

Sunday December 13, 2:00pm,  Church of the Straits Hosts the Community Cantata Choir performing ”The Prophet Callin’” directed by Gussie Williams.

Sunday December 20, 6:00pm, Mackinaw Bible Church presents their annual Christmas program.

For Christmas Eve services:  Church of the Straits 7pm and St Anthony’s has a Christmas Eve and Christmas Day service.
