Northern Lights and Spectroscopy with Aurelian Balan
What are the northern lights and how do we see them? Formally called the aurora borealis, those beautiful reds, greens, and purples in the sky are an atmospheric phenomenon resulting from complex interactions between solar particles and the Earth’s magnetic field. Join Aurelian Balan, Professor of Physics at Delta College, for a look at the physics behind the aurora and get a good idea of what to do to see it well.
